In the Guardian paper and online last Friday we were delighted to see an eagerly awaited review from food-critic Grace Dent.

Dent joined us for Sunday lunch in May, since then we have been religiously checking the Guardian website every Friday morning to see if it was us that featured in ‘Grace Dent on Restaurants’.

It was a nerve wracking time. Grace Dent is notorious for letting her disdain be known when there is disdain to be had. And we quote ‘At The Kensington Arms in Redland, I’m acutely aware that I’m the last face any kitchen brigade wants to see over a long bank holiday weekend’. Lucky for us, Grace considered us ‘A rare gem of a pub that serves prepared food without airs and graces - it’s almost a shame to share the secret’.

We’re glowing with pride.
